The Italian Publishers Association ( Associazione Italiana Editori ) is the Trade Association for Italian publishers and foreign publishers operating in Italy or publishing books, magazines and electronic multimedia and on line publications in Italian. With its 400 members, covering 75% of Italian literary output, today it constitutes an attentive and up to date observatory of the cultural and educational panorama of the country and its trends. Amongst its aims, AIE seeks to represent and protect publishers, to encourage professional growth, but also to promote initiatives which represent a contribution towards the diffusion of books and the Italian culture in Italy and throughout the world.

The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) is an independent, non commercial umbrella association of book publishers associations in the European Union. It first saw the light of day - under a different name - on  19th January 1967.

Technical University of Berlin: TUB's Interdepartmental Research Centre FSP-PV / TUBKOM.

The inter-disciplinary research and application development within the university focuses on real-time data processing using distributed systems with advanced high-speed communication technologies. Research topics are computer-supported methodologies, systems, components and computer software - all of them together opening network technologies to new tele-application areas. The focus is set on MultiMedia, MultiVendor, MultiNetwork applications as well as archiving and especially quality of Services (QoS) on application-and network layers (Internet, Intranet, Extra-net). Activities in development of e-commerce, payment systems, network security and java-based web applications and databases became important topics for our work during the last 5 years.
