WIPO Treaties

The Diplomatic Conference held under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in December 1996 adopted two new treaties, dealing with the protection of authors and the protection of performers and phonogram producers. Those treaties
update the international protection for copyright and related rights significantly. The European Community has signed those treaties and the EU Directive 2001/29/EC also serves to implement a number of the new international obligations.

TRIPS Agreement

The TRIPS Agreement is Annex 1C of the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization, signed in Marrakesh, Morocco on 15 April 1994.

• The Digital Millenium Copyright Act of 1998.
  The legislation implements two 1996 World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) treaties: the WIPO Copyright Treaty and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty. The DMCA also addresses a number of other significant copyright-related issues.

Questionnaire on the Present Situation of eLearning in the New EU Countries.

In 2004 the eLearning portal of the european commision - eLearningeuropa.info - conducted a questionnarie on the practice of eLearning in the 10 acceding countries to the European Union.
